Audio Conferencing And The Usefulness Of Using An Operator

<< Main Reports  Main Reports >>

Audio conferencing will improve your business. Employees once acclimated to using the service will learn to see it’s advantages. Getting your message across to customers is also made easier through conferencing. Previous articles discussed the many services out there but what was not discussed was the more interactive conferencing servicesthat are available. Teleconference providers also have services where there are operators who handle your audio conferencing call. They act as an intermediary, providing mostly order in a sometimes disorderly environment. Their involvement allows you to focus on the tasks or goals at hand. The cost of course is higher but the professionalism projected is worth much more. This is an option one should consider especially if you have no experience at all with conferencing.

If you are really looking for quality one should also question the conferencing provider about what equipment do they use. The platform will determine the reliabilty so if you are concerned about this then you should know that usually good service providers use extremely reliable platforms made by a small number of manufacturers. Expect to hear one of the following equipment names such as Avaya, Compunetix, Polycom, Presscom, Spectel or Voyant. If you don’t hear any of these, the conferencing provider may probably be using less than reliable equipment. Of course by the time you read this article, there may be better equipment so definitely do your due diligence. If you listen carefully, one can determine the quality of the conferencing provider just by the answers to any of your questions. In the end, doing business with some one you trust is much more important than price especially if you have to use the provider for some time.

I represent Great America Networks Conferencing. We offer Operator Assistance service on our full Compunetrix audio bridge. We find with our clients that it is not something you need for every call but invaluable in certain situations. To discuss a meeting with 3 or 4 people is no problem without an operator, but a seminar with 30+ people and a live Q & A session at the end is an excellent time to utilize a moderated call with a live operator.
